In today’s reflection, I want to talk about confidence.
We’re told to get more confident first, and then we’ll finally do the thing. But confidence isn’t the thing you’re missing. It’s a symptom. What you’re actually missing is the skill underneath it: self-trust.
This week's episode is a solo one. No guest, just me and a question I get asked constantly: why do I look so young, and where does my energy come from. The honest answer starts on January 1st, 2013, the day I quit smoking and replaced it with the gym. That one small kept promise is still shaping who I am almost 15 years later, and it's the whole reason I wanted to record this.
Self trust is a firm, internal reliance on your own integrity, judgment, and capabilities, regardless of outcome. It’s the foundation confidence is built on top of, and you cannot skip it.
Breaking promises to yourself destroys self trust slowly and quietly, and your confidence goes down with it. The way back isn’t a bigger promise. It’s a smaller, more honest one.
Start small enough that you can actually keep it. Not five gym sessions a week when you can realistically manage one. One kept promise, then another, is the entire practice.
A question for you
What's one promise you've been making to yourself and breaking, over and over, without even noticing? Not the big one. The small one.
I’d love to hear. Reply in the comments or reach out. I’m collecting these stories.
It does not cost you anything to share. And sharing is caring!
Until next time, gorgeous: keep moving. Keep questioning. Keep being brave enough to not fit the mold. Your non-linear path isn’t a failure. It’s evidence that you’re paying attention.
And the world needs that.
See you in the next one,
Cris
